Fourth of July Weekend

We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer - never mind the fact that we are having abnormally high temperatures this June.. just like last year. Maybe, just maybe we’ll have a nice July & August as we did in 2009.

We will be closed Saturday July 3, Sunday July 4 and Monday July 5 in observance of the Fourth of July Holiday weekend.
Let us all take the time to think about how lucky we are to live in such a great country… God Bless America!!

Foxgloves & Ivy gives back - Sunrise Assisted Living Center Buckhead

This afternoon, Foxgloves & Ivy hosted a small group of the residents and staff of Sunrise Assisted Living Center Buckhead. We’ve been the florist for several of the Sunrise homes & Brighton Gardens for many years now (Decatur -9 years). The Activities Director, Mina, called a while back and inquired about the possibility of a field visit for the residents. We were pleased to host them… 8 ladies and 2 staff - they received a tour on our business, flowers, open question forum and as a special treat, we escorted them to the rooftop deck of our building for a one of a kind view of the cit skyline. Before they boarded their bus to return home, we brought them back into the store and presented everyone with fresh flowers for them to take home and put in their apartments. One of the residents, Miss Hazel (in the chartreuse jacket) is a retired florist from Northern Virginia… she was at home in our store - you could see it in her eyes. It was a great time for our staff and the residents who came to see us. Here are a couple of photos of their visit!

Flower availability

Welcome to the blog -

First of all, thank you to all of our wonderful customers for their support for Mother’s Day 2010…we really appreciate our loyal client base!

Now…spring is fast waning and with it, we need to update you on what is no longer available for daily orders - Dutch Tulips are done for the season… we usually have them again around November.

Dogwood and other blooming branches are also past season… typically we will start carrying protea, leucodendron and curly willow or pussy willow for branches.
French tulips (the long stemmed, large headed tulip) will be available for a while, but the prices will rise as the heat rises in the California growing farms. If they are available at a good price, Greg will consider purchasing.

It’s time for summer, so we will carry our fantastic assortment of summer blooming flowers - dahlias, delphinium, hydrangea, celosia, sunflowers, gerberas, lisianthus…..the list goes on forever!!!
